Noorvik is located on the banks of the Nazuruk Channel of the Kobuk River, about 42 miles southwest of Kotzebue. There are 186 students in the school, 94% of whom are Alaskan Native. Twelve teachers offer courses in family & consumer sciences, teaching as a career, Inupiaq language, hunting & trapping & survival, and career technology education.
