Overview:

The goal of the Migrant Education Program

is to ensure that all migrant students reach

challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma

that prepares them for responsible citizenship, further learning, and productive employment.

A career exploration trip where Migrant Education Program (MEP) Juniors and Seniors FY23 have the opportunity to visit various businesses in Anchorage and prepare for the opportunities available after high school. The Acceleration Ready Career Exploration Program will run from May 24-June 2, 2024. They will stay on the campus of UA and eat meals there as well. They will be learning Accuplacer and ALEKS (college and career placement tools). Students will be visiting the Alaska Native Heritage Center, NANA Regional Corporation, Teck, They will also work on Career Exploration Projects. There will be organized evening activities led by Youth Peer Mentors (YPM's) from the University.
