Star of the Northwest Magnet School combines the resources of secondary and post-secondary institutions within the Northwest Arctic Borough to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience for students in grades 9-12. Building on the need for specialized education in rural Alaska to prepare our students for careers in high-demand fields; Star has tailored curricula that allows our students to concentrate their studies along one of six chosen career pathways; health services, education, construction trades, process technology, business, and culinary arts. Students graduating from Star are career ready having gained the skills and knowledge needed through their coursework to continue their education or step out on their chosen career path as outlined in their Personal Learning and Career Plans (PLCPs)
